I finally finished this little guy! ♥
I did a little leaf-light study for my own reference to help me with a picture I’m having trouble with, and I thought my results might be helpful to anyone who has trouble with painting leaves, too.
The main visual difference between backlit and top-lit leaves seems to be that the light in backlit leaves moves towards warmer, more intense colors, while top-lit light appears more white and washed-out.
(The leaf I was working from has a somewhat shiny/waxy outer coating, so matte leaves would look a little bit different when top-lit.)Please correct me if you see anything wrong with this! :)

I finally finished this forest picture from a couple weeks ago! :’D It took a long time, but I think it was worth it.
This was initially pen and ink, and then I painted it digitally. I hope you all like it!
